Multi-channel content... made in an afternoon

It’'s amazing what you can do with some enthusiasm, a few friends and a bit of talent. Last week at Seven we held our ‘Content Revolution’ workshop as part of Internet Week Europe 2012

The interactive two-hour session had two aims: To plan, produce and execute a multi-channel offering for Seven’'s guest for the day, Bubbalicious –– a not-for-profit online community for young parents.

To give nearly 100 enthusiastic content pioneers from the client, agency and media worlds a sense of best practice in content creation and illustrate how content marketing is practical, doable and measurable. Bubbalicious wanted to raise awareness of child sleep safety issues among young parents, promoting their online network as a place to chat as well as share advice and experiences.

With this in mind and helped by our amazing, generous speakers, we explored four key areas of multi-channel content marketing –– video, augmented reality (AR), content-rich web apps and social media activation.

With presentations from industry experts including Facebook, Flockler and Aurasma, guests were given a whistle-stop tour of each of these techniques, building something meaningful for Bubbalicious in real time through the afternoon.

By the end of the workshop, we had: edited vox-pops from our guests into a Bubbalicious-branded video – published ‘Bubbazine’, a Bubbalicious e-zine app for web, mobile and tablet – got people spreading the word about these new assets across their social networks – created an AR ‘Aura’ that is activated from a custom-designed business card that can be shared face-to-face.  Please take a look at our Bubbalicious video:

And you can see the ‘Bubbazine’ app, created using Flockler for web, mobile and tablet by clicking here.

Not bad for an afternoon’s work!

But the job’s only half-done – please find 30 seconds to share these assets with the world and help Bubbalicious spread the word (using the hashtag #7CR).

So finally, thanks a million to everyone who made this a success – particularly Bubbalicious and FSID, all the guests who came along, Internet Week Europe and everyone here at Seven who helped pull things together.

And if you have any thoughts or feedback on anything you’ve seen here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
