C3 has appointed a new group CEO, Adel Gelbert, as part of a new management structure. Gelbert has been a partner at the strategic marketing and communication consultancy fischerAppelt for five years. Prior to this, the MBA was a partner and managing director of the BBDO subsidiary Batten & Company, a consultancy specialising in marketing and sales, for 12 years.
Working alongside him, Chief Digital Officer Blundstone Osterberger will be responsible for the creative and digital sectors, and Gregor Vogelsang will continue to head all international activities and drive the further internationalisation of C3. The two founders, Lukas Kircher and Rainer Burkhardt, remain long-term shareholders of the C3 group and will assume the role of Chairmen of the Supervisory Board.
C3 was formed from a merger between Kircher, Burkhardt and Burda Creative Group in 2014. In January 2016, C3 acquired UK content marketing agency Seven, creating the largest content marketing specialist in Europe. In November 2016, the Global Content Marketing Network (GCMN) was created, uniting two of the world’s biggest experts in the field: C3 and US giant Meredith Xcelerated Marketing (MXM). The first international partnership of its kind, GCMN was established in response to big brands seeking a single strategic partner for content marketing solutions at global scale and reach.
