We don’t usually need any excuse to pop the champagne corks at SevenC3 but this week the bubbly has been especially well deserved! There’s no better way to go into the holiday season than with happy hearts and we were fortunate enough to have reason to celebrate our wonderful people for their big award wins.
Last week we attended the British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) awards – one of the most glamorous events in every editor’s diary.
Helena Lang, Editor-in-Chief of Sainsbury’s magazine, won Editor of the Year for Branded Content.
“The editor of the winning magazine has shown how to create the perfect marriage of giving both the consumer and client exactly what they want,” said the BSME judges. And we agree. Under Helena’s direction, Sainsbury’s magazine has remained the UK’s largest newsstand food and cookery title and it is fantastic to have her efforts recognised by the prestigious BSME.
Our reason to celebrate continued at last night’s CMA awards ceremony where we walked away with four wins! Helena won Editor of the Year (Silver) for her work on Sainsbury’s magazine and the Sainsbury’s magazine team clinched the Best Use of Print within a Multi-Media Campaign (Silver) award. These awards are a testament to the creative efforts of the Sainsbury’s magazine team under Helena’s leadership and acknowledge just how powerful the brand is.
CIMA FM magazine
The main objective for SevenC3 in delivering a successful monthly magazine has always been to make it appeal to every member, from students to professionals, while delivering a dynamic and engaging print and digital solution.
The SevenC3 design team chose illustration to transform what can be ‘grey’ content into something genuinely gripping and which has tremendous creative stand-out. Illustration has the power to visualise narrative in a way that photography just can’t – making content more imaginative, surprising and engaging. The judges at the CMA agreed with us and we won Silver for Best Use of Illustration.
One of our incredibly talented designers, Andy Wells, accepted the award on behalf of the CIMA Design team: Andy was also nominated this year at the CMA awards as one of our Rising Stars for his outstanding work for SevenC3 over the past year.
At SevenC3 we were put forward for several entries into the Rising Star category: the aforementioned Andy Wells; Maxine Marshall; Jamie Rumball and Emma Rees for their amazing client and account work. The inspiring work that these people produce truly quantifies them as Rising Stars within their respective areas.
This year, Emma Rees won a Rising Star (Silver) award for her influencer strategy work, which she implements across SevenC3. Emma combined her marketing background and insights into the world of blogging and developed a unique approach to influencer marketing for SevenC3, building out the offering from the ground up and bringing a new revenue stream to the business.
At SevenC3 we appreciate all the nominations and wins and are immensely proud of our teams and individuals who have worked tirelessly to produce such award-winning content. It’s a wonderful way to end the year and we look forward to continuing with the same passion and innovation into 2018.
